Sport

Merton sport has experienced something of a renaissance in recent years, experiencing successes in such diverse activities as dance-sport, cricket, pool, football, squash, croquet, and (of course) rowing.

AMALGAS

AMALGAS is a fund to help Merton and Mansfield sports clubs with their running costs. The committee meets once a term to deal with claims from sports clubs for essential expenses. Typical costs that can be claimed include cuppers entry fees, cost of essential equipment, referees fees etc. More info about what can be claimed and an application form is in the link below......

Clubs and Teams

Merton has teams for all the major (and a surprisingly large number of the minor) Oxford sports. In several sports we field joint teams with Mansfield college, but in the majority we field teams in our own right.

If you want to get involved in Merton sport, contact the relevant sports captain (a fairly comprehensive list of which are listed below). If you don't see your sport of choice listed, contact the sports rep, who will do his best to assist you in setting up a team.

? denotes there is no current team but there has been in the past, so if you'd like to set one up please do, and let the sports rep know who's in charge!

A "?" indicates that the captain is not known or there is currently no team, but there has been one in the past. Please let the webmaster know if you're aware of any errors on this list!

Web Links

Some Merton sports even have their own webpages... (NB: the content of those pages might be somewhat out of date!)
