Arts Festival

This year's festival

Merton Artsfest is taking place from Thursday to Sunday of 2nd week, opening with an exciting launch on Front Quad. There will be events from across all artistic disciplines, including a concert from Merton's finest, theatre, and poetry readings by Bernard O'Donoghue. The loose Surrealist theme of the Artsfest will reach its culmination in a fun and memorable Surrealist Formal Hall on the Friday, with plenty of surprises on offer - followed by a magical Fairground Ball on Saturday, complete with conjurers, fortune telling, juggling and of course, candyfloss.

Other events include an eerie night time ghost walk unveiling Merton and surrounding colleges' dark pasts, an afternoon open reading of Shakespeare's Cymbeline in the gardens with strawberries and cream, and an exciting treasure hunt around Merton based on its artistic past - with plenty of edible prizes!
