Have a great Summer!

Punting

Hello everyone,

The punts are now ready to be used this term, after many, many, MANY delays in replacing equipment lost last Trinity!

To book a punt, sign up on the sheet which is in a folder in the Lodge (the temporary Lodge, that is). The sheet will be put up the weekend before, and you can sign up for a slot Monday to Sunday. The time slots for the punts are 3 hours long, starting at 9am and ending at 9pm. Please bear in mind that we only have two punts, so don't take up too many slots! Before signing up to use a punt, please read the Rules and Regulations, also found up in the Lodge. The keys can be collected from the Porters. DO NOT LOSE THEM!

IMPORTANT: Apparently there were a lot of problems last Trinity with people not returning keys, which caused all sorts of inconvenience for anyone else wanting to take a punt out, and for the Porters who had to deal with the complaints. They are taking a hard line on this now, and anyone found to not be following the rules for punting will lose the privilege altogether. Sorry to nag, but after all the hassle getting them ready I really want things to run smoothly from now on!

The punts are kept at the mooring in St Catz college - cross over the bridge and take the first path on the left, through a gate, and follow the building round to the left until you reach the river. The punts are moored on the river, and the cushions, paddles and wooden racks are in the first grey cupboard on the left, labelled 'M1'. The poles are on the rack, fastened with a black bike lock. Don't forget to take a safety ring! Once your slot has finished, please return all the equipment to where you found it, and don't forget to bring back the keys at least FIVE MINUTES before the end of your slot!

We also have three kayaks for anyone who is interested, which can be found in Dave Hedges' garden at no.14, Manor Place. Make sure you use the safety equipment provided. Booking forms for the kayaks will be put in the Lodge soon.

If anyone has any queries or problems, please get in touch with either myself or Dave Hedges.

Have a good term on the water!
