Entz means entertainments, and in a city with two universities' worth of students there's bound to be bucket loads on offer.
Around Oxford
There are clubs and student nights in Oxford to cater for every taste, be it smooth R&B at the Bridge, the rock-tastic Zodiac or the chessy, legendary 'delights' of Filth, as well as everything in between. You'll also find just as much diversity in the dinking establishments, from Morse's favourite pub to classy cocktail bars, coffee houses and the immortal Turf Tavern.
Merton's infamously riotous Bops are known to be the best attended, least sensible and most... er... enthusiastically costumed in Oxford
BOPS
Merton's most-dedicated Entz reps engineer events to ensure that all able and willing Mertonians have a great time. Probably the biggest part of the Entz reps' job is organising fortnightly fancy-dress parties called Bops. Merton's Bops are known to be the best attended, least sensible and most... er... enthusiastically costumed in Oxford for a vertable multiplicity of reasons: the main one being the off-site sports pavillion in which we hold them - so, whilst in-college Bops have a decibel limit and a curfew of midnight, here at Merton the revelry continues into the small hours. With ridiculous outfits, cheesy music, cheap drinks, superb company and fantastic atmosphere you are bound to enjoy yourself!
The only priority of Merton Entz events is for everyone, and we mean everyone, to have a good time!
However, if this does not take your fancy there are many other events organised; ranging from acoustic nights to laser quest, trips to faraway lands to themed bar nights, karaoke nights to the annual JCR sports day. There is so freat a variety of events that whatever your interest, drinker or teetotaller, party animal or not - you can get involved in the fun.
Both inside and outside the college there is an amazing array of club nights, parties, events and activities on offer. The only priority of Merton Entz events is for everyone, and we mean everyone, to have a good time!
