Information for Teachers

This page is intended to provide some information to help teachers who are overseeing applications to Universities including Oxford - specifically in how to help students to best apply to Merton.
Group Visits
It is possible to arrange group visits to Merton for potential applicants and there are many different forms that these can take. Please visit the Merton College Schools Liaison page for more information on how to arrange this. We really recommend a visit to Merton: there is no better way to help decide either which college is right , or indeed if Oxford is right for a student.
Applications
Applications to Oxford University must be made both via the UCAS process and the Oxford Application form. Applications can be made to a specific college, such as Merton, or 'open' - which means you are assigned a college automatically after application or after interview.
If a student wishes to apply to Merton as their 'first choice' college they must apply to:
- University Of Oxford, Institution Code Name OXF and Institution code O33 selecting Campus Code F on the UCAS form.
- College of first preference MER on the Oxford Application form.
