The Bodley Club is the speaker society of the College. Founded in 1894 as a forum in which undergraduates delivered academic papers on literature, the Club has changed form over the years, and was reformed in the 1980s as a society inviting "fabulously interesting" speakers to deliver talks to the College. The only members of the Club are the Committee, but all members of the College (including JCR, MCR, SCR, and staff) are invited to speaker events, which are kindly subsidised in part by the JCR.
There is also an annual dinner, in Hilary Term. Those interested in attending should in the first instance contact the President. Should places be oversubscribed, preference will be given to those who have attended events in the past.
For more information, find us on Facebook (facebook.com/BodleyClub), or contact one of the Committee. We are always open to suggestions for speakers to host. As can be seen from our previous speakers, our only criterion is that speakers should be "fabulously interesting", to quote our constitution.
